New Delhi (VNA) –
The Embassy ofVietnam in India held a conference on cultural communication between the twocountries in New Delhi on December 10.

The event was part of bilateral culturaldiplomatic activities with the participation of Vietnamese journalists and folkartists as well as representatives from the Indian Institute of MassCommunication.

At the conference, delegates highlighted thesound traditional friendship between Vietnam and India. 

They agreed that communication plays asignificant role in introducing, promoting and connecting the cultures ofVietnam and India.

Associate Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Loi, member ofthe executive board of the Vietnam Journalists Association and editor-in-chiefof the journalists magazine, said through the press channel, Vietnam hasintroduced its unique culture to international friends.

The organisation of conferences and academicexchanges creates a good opportunity for the country to promote its image tothe world, including India, he added.

Director of the Indian Institute of MassCommunication K G Suresh expressed his admiration for the Vietnamese people’shistorical tradition against foreign aggressors and national construction andprotection.

He underlined the crucial role of communicationin increasing mutual understanding between the Vietnamese and Indian people.

On the occasion, the embassy held an artprogramme re-enacting Vietnam’s traditional religious practice of worshippingmother goddesses which was recognised by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritageof humanity in 2016.-VNA
