Vietnam, Italy universities helped to seek partnerships

A conference was held in Rome, Italy on April 9 for Vietnamese and Italian universities to explore opportunities for training partnerships.

Thirty leading universities of the two countries sentrepresentatives to the conference, which was organised by the ItalianMinistries of Foreign Affairs and Education, Universities and Research,and the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy.

Addressing the event,Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy Nguyen Hoang Long, who once pursuedtertiary study in Italy, said education cooperation is among prioritiesin Vietnam-Italy strategic partnership.

According to DeputyDirector of the International Cooperation Department under the Ministryof Education and Training Nguyen Thi Thanh Minh, Italy is a potentialeducator partner of Vietnam, especially in social, cultural, andtechnology studies.

She also introduced foreign partnershipprogrammes to Italian universities which are interested in partnershipdeals with Vietnam.

Meanwhile, Italian Governmentrepresentatives assured that more favourable conditions will be rolledout for Vietnamese students.

The two sides also agreed thatcooperation in training high-skilled human resources is essential tosupport Italian businesses investing or planning business expansion inVietnam.

Vietnam and Italy have so far cooperated in 72 education projects.

About 1,000 Vietnamese students are currently studying in universities across the European country.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
