Vietnam joins Asia Pacific law association

LAWASIApresident Lester G. Huang presented the membership certificate tolawyer Le Thuc Anh, President of the Vietnam Bar Federation (VBF) on aceremony held the same day in Hanoi .

Huang said LAWASIA welcomes the VBF as a national lawyers’ association to become one of its official members.

VBFhead Le Thuc Anh praised the role and position of LAWASIA in developingand promoting the legal profession in Asia and the Pacific.

Heunderlined that the VBF and the circle of Vietnamese lawyers will dotheir utmost to contribute to the successful and effective cooperationwith the LAWASIA as well as for progress and development of the lawyerprofession in Vietnam and in the region.

After the ceremony,the VBF had an official working session with the LAWASIA President onthe future cooperation programmes and other international schemesrelating to the promotion of the legal profession.

Founded inAugust 1966 in Australia , LAWASIA is an international organisationof lawyers’ associations, individual lawyers, judges, legal academics,and others which focuses on the interests and concerns of the legalprofession in the Asia Pacific region.

The governing body, theLAWASIA Council, is comprised of representatives of the supreme legalbodies in 27 countries and over 1,500 individual members from over 50countries.

The main goal of the association is to promote the professional relations among lawyers and enhance their legal practices./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
