Vietnam and Laos shared experience in religious affairs at a conference held in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue on October 11.

Chairman of the Vietnamese Government’sCommittee for Religious Affairs Vu Chien Thang said the event took place at atime when the two countries are celebrating the 55th founding anniversary ofdiplomatic ties.

The bilateral effective cooperation in variousfields, including religious affairs, has contributed to maintaining politicalstability and boosting social, economic and cultural development in eachcountry, he said.

The Vietnamese Government’s Committee forReligious Affairs will do its best to proactively and actively implement alreadysigned agreements to further enhance the efficiency of bilateral cooperation inthis sphere, Thang added.

At the conference, the two sidesalso shared experience in State management of religious activities.

Within the framework of the bilateralcooperation agreement on religious affairs for the 2014-2020 period, Vietnamand Laos have alternately sent nine high-level delegations to each other’snation and jointly organised conferences to exchange religious experience fornearly 100 officials.

The Vietnamese committee also dispatchedlecturers to share religious issues at training classes for Lao officials atthe invitation of the Lao Front for National Construction.-VNA
