Six provinces and cities have built their own green growth action plans with the assistance of a foreign-funded project in strengthening capacity and institutional reform for green growth and sustainable development in Vietnam.

The project, with a budget ofover 4.12 million USD funded by the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and USAgency for International Development (USAID), was carried out during 2015-2018by the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI).
At a meeting on December 21 toreview the project, it was reported that the northern provinces of Quang Ninh,Cao Bang, Bac Kan and Ha Nam, along with Hanoi and HCM City had developed theiraction plans for green growth.
The project also designed a planof action for Vietnam’s strategy on renewable energy developm💞ent and fundedtrain courses on green growth for 1,728 government officials.
Hanoi has shown its strong commitmentin managing waste, setting up rooftop solar panels on public building and usingCNG eco-friendly buses.

Vietnam pledges to mobilise all resources, including the involvement of ministries, sectors, localities, and people towards successfully implementing the UN’s 2030 Agenda and sustainable development goals (SDGs), Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Vu Dai Thang has said.
