Vietnam, Nicaragua back bilateral ties

Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega made the statement on September 2 at areception for politburo member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Le Hong Anh during his working visit to the Latin Americancountry.

President Ortega highly valued LeHong Anh’s visit and considered it an important milestone in therelations between the CPV and the Sandinista National LiberationFront (FSLN) as well as between the two States.

He urged Vietnam ’s enterprises to soon visit Nicaragua to seekinvestment and trade opportunities, adding that Nicaraguan businesseswill also come to study Vietnam ’s know-how in agriculture, small andmedium-sized enterprise development, as well as cooperationpossibilities with Vietnamese companies.

For hispart, Le Hong Anh, who is also a standing member of the CPV CentralCommittee’s Secretariat, briefed Ortega on Vietnam ’s currentachievements in socio-economic development, as well as its risingposition in the international arena.

The twosides exchanged views on numerous regional and international issues ofmutual concern, and agreed on measures to further their bilateral tiesin a more practical and effective manner.

Accordingly, the two sides will foster delegation, information andexperience exchanges, especially in leading local socio-economicdevelopment, and support each other at international forums that the twocountries are members.

They also agreed toeducate their youth on the Vietnam-Nicaragua traditional friendship andcomprehensive cooperation relationship.

The sameday, Le Hong Anh met with President of the Nicaraguan National AssemblyRene Nunez, who expressed his desire to enhance the relationshipbetween the two parliaments, as well as step up delegation exchanges toshare experience in legislative issues.

Le HongAnh asked the Nicaraguan NA to build a legal framework for thesustainable and stable cooperation between the two countries.

During Le Hong Anh’s stay, an agreement was signed by the CPV andthe FSLN to further strengthen the friendship, solidarity andcomprehensive cooperation between the two Parties and States.

He left Nicaragua on September 3 for an official visit to Cuba.-VNA
