Vietnam party delegation visits DPRK

A delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) is paying a working visit to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) from July 24-30.

At talks with the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK)delegation in Pyongyang on July 26, the head of the Vietnamesedelegation, Tran Quoc Vuong, who is the CPV Central CommitteeSecretary and head of the Party Central Committee Office, said the Partyand State of Vietnam always values the traditional friendship with theDPRK and wants to increase cooperation for mutual development in the newsituation.

He expressed his belief that under the leadershipof the WPK, the DPRK people will surpass all difficulties and challengesto win more success in the cause of national construction, contributingto peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and theworld.

The Vietnamese official highlighted the traditionalrelationship between the two countries which was fostered by PresidentHo Chi Minh and President Kim Il-sung.

Over the past time, therelations between the two Parties, States and peoples have seen newdevelopments which have been demonstrated through visits by high-rankingParty and State leaders and friendship exchanges between the twopeoples, he said.

Head of the WPK delegation Kim Jong-in,Politburo alternate member and Central Committee Secretary, expressedhis delight at the developing traditional friendship between the twoParties, States and peoples, adding that the visit to the DPRK by PartyGeneral Secretary Nong Duc Manh in October, 2007 had pushed bilateralties a new step forward.

The Party and State of the DPRKalways attach importance to developing the multi-faceted cooperationwith Vietnam , he affirmed.

On this occasion, the two sidescompared notes on measures to enhance their bilateral cooperation inthe time to come as well as regional and international issues of mutualconcerns.

During their stay in the DPRK from July 24-30, theVietnamese delegation attended activities to mark the 60 th anniversaryof the victory of the Korean liberation war and visited severaleconomic, cultural and historical facilities in Pyongyang. -VNA
