Vietnam People’s Army anniversary celebrated in Cambodia

Phnom Penh (VNA) – Thestaff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia laid a wreath at theVietnam-Cambodia Friendship Monument in Phnom Penh on December 22 on theoccasion of the 72nd founding anniversary of Vietnam People’s Armyand the 27th anniversary of All People’s National Defence Festival(December 22).

Charge d’Affaires Nguyen Tac Toanand chief defence attaché Nguyen Anh Dung attended the event.

The same day, Deputy Secretary ofState for National Defence of Cambodia Phuong Siphen led a delegation to theMonument to pay tribute to Vietnamese officers and soldiers who laid down theirlives while performing international missions in Cambodia.

He said he is delighted at the strong development of the Vietnam People’s Army.

The recent visit by CambodianPrime Minister Hun Sen has reaffirmed the traditional friendship and solidaritybetween the two nations, he said.

Later on December 22, theVietnamese Embassy and Vietnam’s defence attaché agency in Cambodia hosted abanquet to celebrate the occasion, with the participation of Vietnamese andCambodian officials./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
