Jakarta (VNA) - The Vietnamese ship coded HQ-286 named LeQuy Don the Vietnam People’s Navy left TanjungPriok port in Jakarta on May 4, wrapping up its four-day visit to the country.

While in Indonesia, naval officers and sailors aboard the ship led by ColonelNguyen Duc Nam, Vice Director of the Vietnam Naval Academy, visited the VietnameseEmbassy in Indonesia, the Vietnam defense attaché office and Fleet 1 of the IndonesianNavy, met with the Deputy Governorof Jakarta and joined sports exchange activities with the Indonesian Navy.

During the visit to Fleet 1 ofthe Indonesian Navy, Colonel Nam said he was impressedby training results achieved by the unit.

At his reception for the Vietnamese delegationon May 2, Deputy Governor ofJakarta Sutanto Soehodho briefed the guest on organisational structure, aswell as challenges posing Jakarta in urban development.

Jakarta and some major cities in Vietnam share similarities, which enable thetwo sides to cooperate and share experience for mutual development, he said.

Colonel Nam expressed his belief that the visit will contribute to promotingeffective exchanges and cooperation for development and stability of the two countriesas well as their armies.

He said the visit by ship HQ-286 Le Quy Don had achievedthe purpose and set plan in the training work and foreign affairs, as well as navalexchanges.

Colonel Nam appreciated the Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia and the VietnamDefense Attaché Office in Indonesia for their coordination and help for thedelegation during the visit.-VNA
