Vietnam recorded one new imported case of COVID-19 on October 6, raising the national count to 1,098, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam recorded one new imported case ofCOVID-19 on October 6, raising the national count to 1,098, according to theNational Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

The new patient was a student returning from London on flight VN0054which landed at Van Don airport in the northern province of Quang Ninh. Shetested positive for SARS-CoV-2 while staying in quarantine in Hai Duongprovince.

On October 6, one patient was given the all clear, raising thetotal number of recoveries to 1,023. The number offatalities remains at 35.

 Among patients still under treatment, two have tested negative forSARS-CoV-2 once, two negative twice and five negative thrice.

Over 14,370 people are being quarantined nationwide, with 268 athospitals, 11,614 at designated facilities and 2,491 at home oraccommodations./.
