Vietnam Red Cross should continue good job: President

It is philanthropists at home and abroadwho have also lent a hand to the cause, acknowledged the State leaderSang, who is also VRCS Honourable Chairman at a Hanoi working session onJuly 15 to review the VRCS’s six-month performance and launch its tasksfor the rest of this year.

He expressed hope that the VRCS will continue its good job to reach all of its goals for this year.

President of the VRCS Central Committee Nguyen Hai Duong reportedthat 1.7 million poor households and Agent Orange (AO) victims havereceived relief worth 635 billion VND (30.2 million USD) during theperiod.

In a drive to help farmers in poor and mountainousdistricts, over 3,000 cows valued at around 33 billion VND (157,000 USD)were offered to them.

In 11 northern border provinces, 24,000cows for needy farming families were bought with funds raised fromsubscribers to Viettel telecom services.

Between now and theyear’s end, the VRCS will continue its help to the poor, farmers, and AOvictims via humanitarian activities such as blood donation and medicaltreatment.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
