Vietnam tourism boosted with thrilling festival series

In order to fulfill this year’s target of welcoming 8 million foreign visitors, apart from incentive policies, dazzling festivals are to be held across Vietnam with a view to bringing in more tourists.

Hanoi (VNA) - 𒐪In order to fulfill this year’s target of welcoming 8 million foreign visitors, apart from incentive policies, dazzling festivals are to be held across Vietnam with a view to bringing in more tourists.

Some 70% of Vietnam’s target for tourist arrivals in 2023 was met in the first half of this year. This upbeat result has enlivened localities nationwide. They are planning for enthralling festivals and events until the end of this year to further boost tourism.

Hanoi: Epic Monsoon Music Festival returns

Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang revealed the Department’s plan to coordinate with relevant agencies and organisations to organize 50 events to promote local tourism, including an Ao Dai festival, a souvenir festival and Hanoi Autumn Festival, among others.

Among those, Monsoon Music Festival is the most anticipated. The music festival lasts for 10 days from October 14th to 22nd𒁃, and gathers 40 local and foreign artists and bands.

The opening performance is to be held at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square near Hoan Kiem lake on October 14th. The festival takes place at over 10 locations within Hanoi’s Old Quarter. It ends with a two-day show at Thang Long Imperial Citadel from October 21st to 22nd.

“Hue Autumn” festival

The central province of Thua Thien-Hue also adds to the festival atmosphere nationwide with an Autumn Festival from July to September. The festival, entitled “Hue entering Autumn”, features 18 main shows and activities and 23 sideline events. The festival’s highlights include an Ao dai festival, an Ao dai week and activities celebrating the Mid-autumn festivals.

A lot of interesting events take place this month, such as a ritual to make offerings to spirits, Bat Trang pottery space, and plenty more events.

Enjoying summer breezes with "Wow Da Nang" Festival

Da Nang Department of Tourism has announced a detailed agenda for “Enjoy Da Nang 2023” festival – “Wow Da Nang.”

This event takes place from July 28th to August 1st✤, featuring 11 enthralling activities, such as “Enjoy Da Nang 2023” music night on July 28, and the Da Nang Paragliding Competition from July 29 to 30, among other events.

According to Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism Tan Van Vuong, the highlight of “Wow Da Nang” is a gastronomy festival gathering 50 stalls selling signature dishes from Vietnamese localities and foreign countries.

 “Sai Gon – The River who tells stories”

Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Tourism announced that its River Festival 2023, the first of its kind, will take place from August 4th to 8th🧔. The event features dazzling art performances and trade shows with a highlight being the “Sai Gon – The river that tells stories” art performance at Sai Gon Port.

The art performance reenacts the development path of Gia Dinh-Sai Gon-Ho Chi Minh City from the perspective of Sai Gon River. In other words, the river is personified as a glorious witness to Ho Chi Minh City’s colourful history./.
