Vietnam, Turkey enhance broadcasting cooperation

Vietnamese Ambassador to Turkey Nguyen The Cuong on July 16 had a working session with Ibrahim Sahin, Director General of the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT), aiming to map out directions for the cooperation between the two countries’ broadcasting agencies in the time to come.

At the meeting, Cuong said thatcomprehensive partnership between radio and television agencies hascontributed importantly to the two countries’ relations.

Vietnam and Turkey have to date signed 12 documents, including acooperation agreement between TRT and radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV)in 2008 and another between TRT and the Vietnam Television in 2011.

The diplomat suggested the two sides exchange more music TV programmes.

Sahin said that TRT recently sent to VOV several music discs tobroadcast during the “Turkish music week” programme in Vietnam.

He promised to visit Vietnam at a suitable time to boost bilateral cooperation.

He also took this occasion to thank Vietnamese broadcasting agenciesfor their support of his candidacy as Vice Chairman of theAsia-Pacific Broadcasting Union at its 50th General Assembly andAssociated Meetings held in Hanoi last October.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
