With a 90-million population and abundant human resources, Vietnamhas become an attractive destination for investments, stated the PM whenjoining other leaders of Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong EconomicCooperation Strategy (ACMECS) in a dialogue with the business communityin Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar on June 23 as part of the sixth ACMECS Summit.

He continued by saying the Government is makingevery effort to speed up reforms, economic restructuring and all-roundinternational integration while carrying out measures to createfavourable conditions for foreign investors and businesses.

The Vietnamese Government leader also shared with participants thatVietnam is focusing on improving its business climate and increasingnational competitiveness from 2015-2016.

Withthe formation of the ASEAN Economic Community at the end of this yearand the completion of 14 free trade agreements from 2015-2020, thecountry will become an important link in the global economic connectionchain with 55 partners, including the world’s leading economic centreslike the US, the EU, Russia, Japan and China, he added.

At the dialogue, participating leaders appreciated helpful proposalsmade by the ACMECS Business Council as well as positive feedback fromthe business community on ACMECS cooperation, especially ininfrastructure upgrades.

They hoped enterpriseswould participate more deeply and actively in the building andimplementation of cooperation programmes and mobilise resources to serveprogramming.

Established in 2003, ACMECS, whichgroups Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, has helped boosteconomic-trade ties between member states.-VNA
