Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnamese duo Hua Van Huy and Chau Tuyet Van wonsilver at the 2019 Chungju World Martial Arts Masterships in the Republic of Koreaon September 2.

Huy and Van came second in the taekwondo freestyle poomsae mixed pair. The goldmedal came to the hosts while Thailand and the Philippines shared third place.

It was the second medal for Vietnam in this tournament. On September 1, ChauTuyet Van, Nguyen Thi Le Kim and Nguyen Thi Mong Quynh overcame the hostcountry’s athletes to take the gold in the women’s team event.

The Vietnamese taekwondo team comprises five members.

The World Martial Arts Masterships is an international martial arts mega eventheld from August 30 to September 6 in Chungju city.

About 3,500 martial artists and officials from 106 countries and territoriesare taking part in the competition. There are 271 sets of medals for 20 sportssuch as wrestling, judo, taekwondo, aikido, muay thai and pencak silat up forgrabs. - VNA
