Vietnam wins three bronzes in world informatics, design contests

Hanoi (VNA) –Vietnamese representatives won three bronze medals in the final rounds of the AdobeCertified Associate World Championship 2018 (ACAWC) and the Microsoft OfficeSpecialist World Championship 2018 (MOSWC), which took place in Florida, the US,from July 29 to August 1.

The medals were secured at thecategories of graphic design, Microsoft Word 2013 and Microsoft PowerPoint2013. This was the first time Vietnam had gained such a result at the championships.

Of the four Vietnameserepresentatives sent to the competitions, Nguyen Tran Thao Nguyen, a third-yearstudent from the Ho Chi Minh City Posts and Telecommunications Institute ofTechnology, pocketed a bronze medal at the ACAWC.

Doan Duc Phong from the Le HongPhong High School for Gifted Students in the northern province of Nam Dinh andNguyen Ba Trong Dai, a former student of the Hanoi-based Phan Huy Chu High Schoolobtained the two other bronze medals for their respective performances at the MOSWC’sMicrosoft Word 2013 and Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 events.

The contests drew theparticipation of more than 1.3 million candidates from nearly 70 countriesworldwide, with more than 200 of them competing in the final rounds.-VNA
