Vietnam wins two golds at Asian Physics Olympiad

Vietnam has won two golds at the 2013 Asian Physics Olympiad in Indonesia.
Vietnam has won two gold medals at the 2013 Asian Physics Olympiad(AphO) in Indonesia, announced the Ministry of Education andTraining.

The gold medalists are Bui Quang Tu from theHanoi Amsterdam Gifted High School and Ngo Phi Long from theSon La Gifted High School, both at the 12th grade.

In 2012, Long bagged home a gold medal at the International Physics Olympiad.

This year, all eight members of the Vietnamese team were awarded,including two golds, two silvers, one bronze and three certificates ofmerit.

The two silver medals went to Tran Minh Vu from theHanoi Amsterdam Gifted High School and Vu Tran Dinh Duy from theHCM City-based Le Hong Phong Gifted High School, both at the 12thgrade.

The bronze medal was given to My Duy Hoang Long, the 12thgrade of the Lam Son Gifted High School in Thanh Hoaprovince.

At last year’s AphO in India, Vietnam won one medals, five silvers and two bronzes.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
