Assessments frominternational organisations, however, still showed that Vietnam is amongcountries with high proportion of harmful software transmission, whichsignificantly affects the country’s credit in the digital world.
According to Deputy Minister of Information and Communication NguyenMinh Hong, the work of ensuring information security at offices,agencies and enterprises in Vietnam has still not been given dueattention.
Meanwhile, the legal framework onstandard and national technical regulations on information security hasyet to provide a sufficient foundation for the application of managementmeasures in the field, he noted.
Under the theme“Information safety, security and national sovereignty,” the 2014Vietnam Information Security Day aimed to raise public awareness ofinformation security and encourage human resources training in the area.
It also looked to promote the application anddevelopment of IT in a safe and secure manner since attacks targetingimportant data of organisations and enterprises as well as privateinformation of thousands of people are on the rise.
During the ceremony, representatives of many software giants such asGoogle, Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco and Firewire, shared their experience,solutions and tools to ensure safety and security for important nationalinformation systems.
