Vietnamese actor granted prestigious Asian Film Award
Vietnamese actor Nguyen Song Luan has won the Best Actor in a Leading Role Award granted by the Asian Academy Creative Awards 2019, for his role as captain Duy Kien in Vietnamese-version ‘Hau Due Mat Troi’ (Descendants of the Sun).

Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnamese actor Nguyen Song Luanhas won the Best Actor in a Leading Role Award granted by the Asian AcademyCreative Awards 2019, for his role as captain Duy Kien in Vietnamese-version ‘HauDue Mat Troi’ (Descendants of the Sun).
Luan will attend the gala final, which will take place inDecember in Singapore, with renowned Chinese actress Zhou Xun, who was namedBest Actress in a Leading Role Award for Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace.
Screened in September 2018, Descendants of the Sun honoursthe patriotism of Vietnamese youth. Besides Luan, the film also stars filmstars like Hoai Phuong, Huu Vi and Cao Thai Ha.
It was a re-make of the Korean blockbuster of the same name,but its content was adjusted to showcase the images of Vietnamese soldiers anddoctors during peacetime.
With the participation of two Korean films stars, Song JoongKi and Song Kye Kyo, Descendants of the Sun was a cinematic phenomenon aroundthe country.
The Asian Academy Creative Awards 2019, Asia Pacific’s mostprestigious awards, were established to honour the films, producers andindividuals with outstanding achievements in content creation and mediaproduction.
The awards include over 40 categories, selected and presentedannually in Singapore by the Asia - Pacific Broadcasting Union./.
