TheUnited Nations revealed that the world produces about 300 million tonnes of plasticevery year. That’s nearly equivalent to the weight of the entire humanpopulation.

Only 9 percent of all plastic waste everproduced has been recycled. About 12 percent has been incinerated, while therest – 79 percent – has accumulated in landfills, dumps or the environment.

InVietnam, it is estimated that 1.8 million tonnes of plastic waste is generatedevery year, with plastic consumption increasing 16-18 percent annually. Vietnamis listed among the top five countries responsible for about 13 million tonnesof plastic dumped in the oceans every year./.
