Hanoi (VNA) – Theestablishment of comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Canada is notonly an important milestone in the bilateral relationship but also gives amomentum to cooperative ties, especially when the two nations are sharing moreinterests bilaterally, regionally and internationally.

Vietnamese Prime Minister NguyenXuan Phuc made the statement when co-chairing a press conference with hisCanadian counterpart Justin Trudeau after their talks in Hanoi on November 8.

PM Phuc affirmed that the newagreement on bilateral relations will open a new chapter in socio-economic,cultural, defence and security cooperation in the spirit of comprehensivepartnership.

Sharing the view, PM Trudeau saidthat the Canada-Vietnam comprehensive partnership will be an important legalframework for the two countries to further foster their existing cooperativeties in all fields.

He expressed his belief that bilateralrelations will grow further, including economic cooperation.

Regarding Canada’s participationin the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement, PM Trudeau affirmed thatCanada attaches importance to international trade collaboration as it helpsgenerate jobs, boost economic development and improve people’s livingconditions.

Therefore, Canada has actively takenpart in TPP negotiations in an effort to promote economic growth, he added.-VNA
