The Consular Department under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has warned Vietnamese citizens not to travel to the Maldives these days as the country declared a 15-day state of emergency.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Consular Department under the Ministry of ForeignAffairs has warned Vietnamese citizens not to travel to the Maldives these daysas the country declared a 15-day state of emergency starting from February 5 dueto a political crisis.

Vietnamese citizens are advisednot to visit the Maldives until its government announces an end to the state ofemergency.

Those, who are learning, workingor visiting the island country, are recommended to avoid crowded and sensitiveplaces and keep a close watch on warnings of local authorised offices to ensuresafety.
