Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamesecommunities in the United Kingdom and Brazil recently held events celebratingTet (Lunar New Year) festival.
On January 22, a gatheringcelebrating Tet was organised at Vietnam’s Embassy in the UK, drawing nearly400 Vietnamese from around the country.
Speaking at the gathering,Vietnam’s Ambassador to the UK Nguyen Van Thao briefed attendees ondevelopments in Vietnam in 2016.
He affirmed Vietnamese communityis part of the Vietnamese nation and called on Vietnamese people in the UK to contributemore to the country’s development and the Vietnam-UK relationship.
On the occasion, AmbassadorNguyen Van Thao also highlighted the progress of the Vietnam-UK relationship.
On January 21 in Sao Paulo,Brazil, Vietnam’s Embassy in Brazil and the contact board of Vietnamese peoplein Brazil organsed a ceremony to welcome the Year of the Rooster.
