Berlin (VNA) – Huong Viet magazine and the Vietnam–Germany Association in Schwaben co-organised a special cu🦂ltural programme titled “Huong sac Viet” (The Essence and Colours of Vietnam) on June 28–29 as part of Sommerfest, the largest multicultural festival in Augsburg city, Bavaria state, Germany.

The event celebrated cultural diversity and gave second- and third-generation Vietnamese in Germany a chance to learn more about their roots. Featuring lively cultural performances, traditional dances, and Vietnamese food showcases, the event attracted many German and international visitors.
It was also a highlight in the series of activities marking the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam–Germany diplomatic relations (1975–2025). In her remarks, Mayor of Augsburg Eva Weber welcomed the new cultural colours brought to Augsburg by the Vietnamese community. She said Vietnam has shared with local people not only its delicious cuisine, but also its cultural richness, community spirit, and hospitality. The city truly values the contributions of the Vietnamese community to its development, she noted.
Pham Huy Phuong, head of community affairs at the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany highlighted the importance of the cultural programme for Vietnam–Germany relations, calling it more than a festival but also a bridge of friendship and cultural connection. He noted that over the past 50 years, the two countries have built a strong relationship in many fields, including economy, culture, education, and science. On this occasion, the Vietnamese Embassy also presented certificates of recognition to Huong Viet magazine and the Vietnamese Association in Schwaben for their tireless efforts in preserving Vietnamese cultural identity and supporting the local community./.
