Vietnamese designer presents new collection in London

Vietnamese designer Tran Hung has presented his first and most important fashion collection at the London Fashion Week SS20.

- Vietnamese designer Tran Hung has presented his first and mostimportant fashion collection at the London Fashion Week SS20.

Vietnamese model KhanhLinh is the leading star on the catwalk wearing Hung’s creations.

This is the debut of Hungon international runway after launching his career three years ago. 

A total of 20 newlydesigned costumes inspired by feminism and the strength of women have beenshowcased getting large applause from the audience at the event, whichfinished on September 17.

According to a reportfrom the designer’s office, the opportunity was thanks to Fashion Scout - theinternational showcase for fashion pioneers, the UK's largest independentshowcase for emerging and established talent during London Fashion Week.

Hung said, regardless ofdifferent cultures such as Africa, Asia, USA, Europe, every woman had animportant and key position in their communities.

"They are the oneswho have inspired a lot for fashion and for me," he said.

His view could beclearly expressed on the runway where models had different skin colours,different heights, wore different designs but had their own ways of shining.

Hung’s collection werevery diverse and not confined to a soft feminine style, or pastel palettes.

The main material of thecollection was 100 per cent silk brocade, tulle, organza, taffeta; with bothtraditional hand embroidery featuring tambour embroidery techniques.

The designer added adetail of Dong Ho painting - a type of traditional Vietnamesefolk art - to show his respect to folk culture of the beloved placewhere he was born.

Dong Ho painting or DongHo folk woodcut painting originates in Dong Ho commune, Thuan Thanh district, inthe northern province of Bac Ninh.

Hung has promptlyreceived supports from many female models and celebrities despite being arelative newcomer.

His show was held individuallyin Victoria House, Bloomsbury Square, London. The place is a modern venueof 22,000 squ.m with unique ancient architectural style, and has hostedmany fashion shows of the world's top designers. 


Model Khanh Linh commented on her social network page saying appearing atthe London Fashion Week, it was a whole new experience.

She took the role ofbeing first face and vedette of the Spring Summer 2020 Collection by Hung.

Highlight of herperformance was a 24k gold plated dress which helped her shinein each step on the catwalk.

“I always want to bringbeautiful designs of Vietnamese designers to the world. It is so great toparticipate in this event with Hung’s team to 'conquer' London FashionWeek,” Linh said./.
