Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnamese cuisine isamong the top 15 favourite cuisines in the world, according to a surveyconducted by YouGov, a UK global public opinion and data company.

Conducted between May to December last year,the survey ranked national cuisines after collecting responses from 25,000 foodlovers from 24 countries and territories.

Vietnamese cuisine’s rising populariy pushedit slightly ahead of Hong Kong and Taiwan to rank 13th among the 34 mostpopular cuisines in the world.

Over the last couple of decades, Vietnamesefood has become more popular with international chefs and prestigious foodmagazines praising several national dishes.

Italian food topped the survey’s list at 84percent, followed by Chinese and Thai cuisines.

Some of the dishes found on street corners inVietnam have made it to all corners of the world, like the ‘banh mi’,the Vietnamese sandwich listed among the top 20 street foods by Fodor’s Travel, a US travel guide company.-VNA
