Hanoi (VNA) – The second VietnameseGoods Week in Thailand will take place at the Central Plaza Ladprao in Bangkok,Thailand, from July 27 to August 2, according to Saigon Giai phong newspaper.
The event aims to introduce Vietnamese productsto Thai customers and balance bilateral trade.
Nearly 40 businesses are expected to sellproducts at more than 20 pavilions, mainly confectionary, beverage, tea,coffee, packaged food, spice, fruits and garment-textiles.
Vietnam and Thailand are implementing tradepromotion programmes towards boosting two-way trade to 20 billion USD by 2020.
Made-in-Vietnam goods are thought to havepotential in the Thai market, notably fruits and dried fruits, spices andseafood.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade warned thatThailand has strict requirements on quality and food safety.
Therefore, to secure a firm foothold in themarket, businesses need to improve product quality, reduce production costs andpromote their goods.
The ministry suggested investing in packagingwith full information on the products in Thai or English to attract customers.
