Hanoi (VNA) – Top-ranked grandmasterLe Quang Liem is to participate in the final round of the Meltwater ChampionsChess Tour Finals from November 14-20.
The tournament is an all-play-all round robin,gathering eight elite stars, including newly-crowned Tour 2022Champion Magnus Carlsen and three-time US Champion WesleySo.
Liem is currently at the 20th place in globalranking. He is now ranked fourth in the overall Tour leaderboard, earning atotal prize money of 95,500 USD.

The Vietnamese chess team topped the medal tally of the sport at the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31) held in the northern province of Quang Ninh with seven gold medals.

Top-ranked Vietnamese grandmaster Le Quang Liem won the Grandmaster Triathlon title at the Biel International Chess Festival in Switzerland after holding direct rival Andrey Esipenko to a draw in the last round on July 22.
