Vietnamese, Lao news agencies set tasks for next year

The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and the Lao news agency KPL have agreed to continue improving the quality of their daily exchanged news and furthering the popularisation of the Vietnam-Laos special relationship in 2014.
The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and the Lao news agency KPL have agreed tocontinue improving the quality of their daily exchanged news andfurthering the popularisation of the Vietnam-Laos special relationshipin 2014.

The two sides reached the agreement duringtalks between visiting VNA General Director Nguyen Duc Loi and his KPLcounterpart Sounthone Khanthavong in Vientiane on November 14.

They also agreed that next year, they will enhance the disseminationof information on the land and people of each country as well as thepolitical and socio-economic situation in the region and the world,while increasing professional exchanges between their reporters andtechnicians.

VNA will continue to cooperate with KPLin issuing Vietnam Pictorial in the Lao language and help improvetechnical facilities for the Lao news agency.

The Lao side pledged its aid to help VNA’s Vnews television channel be broadcast on Laos’ cable system.

The two sides agreed to consult Vietnamese and Lao relevant ministriesin the training of their reporters and editors in order to intensifybilateral cooperation.

VNA General Director NguyenDuc Loi took the occasion thank KPL for its support to VNA to be amember of the executive board of the Organisation of Asia-Pacific NewsAgencies as well as for favourable conditions it has given to VNA’spermanent reporters in Vientiane.

The Lao host also acknowledged VNA’s assistance in helping KPL publish the Lao Pictorial.

Later the same day, the VNA delegation visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
