Vietnamese, Laos NA deputy affairs committees strengthen cooperation

Vientiane (VNA) 🎉– Chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA)'s Committee for Deputy Affairs Nguyen Thanh Hai met with President of the Lao Commission on the Affairs of the NA’s Members Souban Savabouth on October 19 in Vientiane, on the sidelines of the 45th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-45).

At the meeting, the Lao official congratulated Hai on being elected to hold the position of Head of the NA's Deputy Affairs Committee and hoped that she will continue to pay attention to promoting the relationship between the two NAs. For her part, Hai expressed her honour to join the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese NA led by its Chairman Tran Thanh Man to pay an official visit to Laos and attend the AIPA-45.
She discussed with the Lao official about the position, function and structure of the deputy affairs committee. She affirmed that the committee will strengthen exchange and share experiences with the Lao counterpart.
The Lao official thanked Hai for sharing practical information and also introduced the guest about his office, its advantages and disadvantages in implementing assigned tasks. On this occasion, the two sides assessed the results of the two committees' cooperation in recent times and discussed the direction of cooperation in the coming time. They affirmed to continue to pay attention to promoting the relationship between the NAs of the two countries in general, between the two deputy affairs committees in particular through the exchange of delegations, training for NA deputies, and activities relating to NA staff./.
