Vietnamese nationals meet in Ukraine

A conference for the Vietnamese community in Ukraine was held in Odessa city on May 6.
A conference for the Vietnamese community in Ukraine was held in Odessa city on May 6.

Organisedby the Vietnamese Embassy, the function took place amid the ongoingeconomic and political crisis in Ukraine, which has impacted greatly onsome 10,000 Vietnamese nationals there.

The event was attended byrepresentatives of the community from such Ukrainian localities asKharkov, Odessa, Kiev, Kherson and Cherkasy. Ambassador NguyenMinh Tri said the embassy wanted to take this chance to hear theiropinions about the situation in Ukraine and suggestions for ways offostering bilateral ties.

The conference also aimed to strengthensolidarity within the Vietnamese community and better theirlivelihoods, as well as increase the coordination between them and theembassy, he added.

At the event, participants were briefed on therecent progress made by Vietnam and the latest regulations on overseasVietnamese citizens.

They said the community are still safe despite the recent violent clashes in Ukraine.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
