Vietnamese people welcome Tet in Germany

The Association of Vietnamese in Berlin-Brandenburg (Germany) and the Cultural Association in Berlin’s Lichtenberg district organised a celebration to welcome the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) Festival on February 8.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of theAssociation of Vietnamese Chu Tien Tang reviewed the association’sactivities over the past years, and expressed his delight at theincreasing number of Vietnamese people taking part in culturalactivities held by the association.

Chairman ofLichtenberg’s Cultural Association Doris Kluge spoke highly of thecooperation between the two associations to jointly celebrate Tet andorganise cultural and sporting activities.

Participants wereintroduced to Vietnamese people’s Tet customs. They also had a chance toenjoy musical performances and taste traditional Vietnamese dishes atthe celebration.

The Association of Vietnamese inBerlin-Brandenburg has existed since the reunification of Germany.The association has held many Vietnamese classes for second generationVietnamese and organised numerous cultural and sporting activitiesfocused on the Fatherland for Vietnamese people in Berlin andBrandenburg.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
