Vietnamese professor receives UK Royal Society of Chemistry’s noble prize
Vietnamese Professor Nguyen Thi Kim Thanh has been honoured with the Interdisciplinary Prize of the United Kingdom’s Royal Society of Chemistry for her outstanding achievements in research and innovation.
London (VNA) – Vietnamese Professor Nguyen Thi Kim Thanh has beenhonoured with the Interdisciplinary Prize of the United Kingdom’s RoyalSociety of Chemistry for her outstanding achievements in research andinnovation.
Thanh, currently working at the University College London (UCL), wonthe prize for her important contributions to research related to Plasmonic nanoparticles and their magnetism for biomedical applications.
Speaking at the awarding ceremony, she expressed her honour tohave interdisciplinary research works with her collaborators recognised, sayingthat she is happy when her research can bring direct benefits in prolonging thelife of cancer patients.
The Interdisciplinary Prizes are awarded for work at theinterface between chemistry and other disciplines. The spirit of the prize isto recognise research involving both the broad and evolving subject ofchemistry and another discipline./.
