Ben Tre (VNA) – A meeting was held in Ben Tre on January 24 for heads ofVietnamese representative agencies abroad in the 2024-2027 tenure andlocalities in the Mekong Delta region.

Addressing the event, Standing Vice Chairman of the Ben TrePeople’s Committee Nguyen Truc Son highlighted the strategic position of theMekong Delta region, as well as its potential and strength as thecountry’s major hub of food, foodstuff, aquatic products, and fruits.

He pointed to a number of challenges that the region isfacing, especially climate change.

For Ben Tre, Son expressed his hope that the newly appointedambassadors and consul generals will help promote the image of thelocality to the world and update local firms with new import regulations anddemands in other countries.

Ambassador Mai Phan Dung, Permanent Representative ofVietnam to the UN, said that Mekong Delta localities should be more active inexpanding international cooperation.

He pledged that the diplomat will alwayssupport them in investment promotion and attracting foreign investment.

At the meeting, heads of the Vietnamese representativeagencies abroad, businesses and localities in the region discussed prospectsfor import-export, trade, investment and tourism cooperation between Ben Treand foreign countries, as well as measures to bring Vietnamese coconut productsto foreign markets, while working out solutions to increase investment, trade andtourism promotion in the future./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
