Vietnamese students rewarded at int’l science contest

The Vietnamese team won six medals at the eighth international junior science Olympiad (IJSO) held from Dec. 5-10 in Durban , South Africa .
The Vietnamese team won six medals at the eighth international juniorscience Olympiad (IJSO) held from Dec. 5-10 in Durban , South Africa.

The six medals include three silver ones for LeMinh Duc, Tran Minh Tuan, Vu Dang Minh Quan and three bronze ones forNguyen Van Minh, Hoang Trong Nam Anh and Luong Viet Hoang. All are fromthe Hanoi-Amsterdam Senior High School for Gifted children.

The annual IJSO, first held in 2004 in Jakarta , Indonesia forstudents under the age of 15, focuses on three natural science subjectsof physics, chemistry and biology.

This is thefourth time Vietnam has participated in the competition. In lastyear’s competition in Nigeria , Vietnam won five bronze medals./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
