Paris (VNA) – Photos anditems featuring the traditional and modern charms of Vietnamese women ineveryday life and work have impressed visitors to an exhibition in Nantescity, France.
Co-organised by the Vietnam-Loire-Atlantique FriendshipAssociation (AVLA) and the city hall of Nantes, the exhibition was part of the former’s ongoingfestival marking the 50th anniversary of the two nations’ diplomaticrelations. The festival, lasting until May 21, entails myriad activitiesincluding a film screening programme, and talkshows with Vietnamese originwriters, journalists, historians and artists.

It showcased 60 photos by Thiery Beyne, a Frenchphotographer who spent seven years living in Vietnam, and a number of black andwhite shots taken by late local photographer Jean-Michel Nicolau.
Also on display were the portraits of 11 Vietnamese women from all walks oflife by French journalist Sabrina Rouillé as well as clothes, workingtools, and everyday objects used the group.
Founded in 1964 by Vietnamese alumni and locals in Loire-Atlantique, the AVLA aimsat promoting solidarity with Vietnam and introducing the Southeast Asian nationto people and Vietnamese expatriates in France. Its activities coverart-cultural events and fund-raising campaigns for charity work./.

The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.
For the first time, the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) has granted Vietnam hosting rights for the two championships, including the Asian women’s solo category, which debuts this year as an officially recognised event.
