HCM City (VNA) - Vietnam GameVerse 2023, the first of its kind for gamelovers, kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City on April 1.
The two-day event aims at creating an environment for gameproducers and distributors to introduce games to the market, and opening upopportunities to connect domestic and foreign game enterprises and investors.
Within the framework of the event, a Vietnam Game Forum wasorganised, bringing together representatives of management agencies, leadingexperts in the field, game studios, and domestic and foreign game distributors. Participatingexperts shared experience and solutions towards creating a healthy environmentfor the Vietnamese game industry to have more opportunities to develop in thefuture, contributing to the digital economy in Vietnam.
According to Director of the Authority of Broadcasting,Television and Electronic Information Le Quang Tu Do, the Ministry ofInformation and Communications has set a plan that the game industry's revenuewill increase to 1 billion USD in the next five years from the current figure of 600million USD.
Vietnam currently has 28.4 million game players with 200 producersand distributors.
There are also Game Arena competitions, the awarding ceremony of the 2023 GameAwards, a game workshop, and a cosplay contest within the framework of thetwo-day event./.
The video game “Lac Viet phieu luu ky” (Lac Viet Adventures) was selected by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a promotional product on digital platforms at the Vietnam Days Abroad 2022 which will respectively take place in Austria, India, and the Republic of Korea in September, November and December this year.

A hub for sharing best practices, the event aims to forge solutions for financial sustainability, public media contracts, audience engagement, content innovation, and newsroom restructuring. It is also a moment for Vietnam’s media to accelerate its progress and figure out what the “revolutionary press” means in a new era.
From “Thanh nien”, Vietnam’s first revolutionary newspaper founded by Nguyen Ai Quoc (later President Ho Chi Minh) on June 21, 1925, the revolutionary press has remained devoted to its sacred missions -accompanying the nation, serving the Fatherland, and working for the people.
