Vietnam’s high-ranking military delegation visits Japan

Gen Phan Van Giang, member of the Party Central Committee and the Central Military Commission’s Standing Board, Chief of the VPA General Staff and Deputy Minister of National Defence, is paying an official friendship visit to Japan from March 2 to 5.

Hanoi (VNA) – A high-ranking delegationfrom the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) led by Sen. Lieut. Gen Phan Van Giang, memberof the Party Central Committee and the Central Military Commission’s StandingBoard, Chief of the VPA General Staff and Deputy Minister of National Defence, ispaying an official friendship visit to Japan from March 2 to 5.

The visit is made at the invitation of Admiral Katsutoshi Kawano, Chief of Staffof the JapanSelf-Defense Forces.

During this visit, the two sides will discuss the socio-economic developmentsituation of each country as well as international and regional issues ofmutual concern, while sharing experience in building troops.

They will also review cooperation results in recent years and seek measures tofurther promote bilateral defence ties in a more effective and practical manner,thereby continuing to strengthen and develop the fine friendship and mutualtrust between the States, armies and people of Vietnam and Japan for peace,stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.-VNA
