Vietnam’s largest gold striped scarf recognised

A striped scarf made of gold has been recognised as the largest of its kind in Vietnam by the Vietnam Record Book Centre (Vietkings), according to Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) website.

Vietkings representatives presented aVietnam Record certification to Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company(PNJ), the maker of the scarf, at a ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City onNovember 10 as part of the Vietnam International Jewelry Fair 2013. 
The hand-made scarf, 130cm in length and 27cm in width, wasdesigned by PNJ with 2,880 gold bars. Bronze drum and flying birdpatterns had been carved on each of the gold bars.  Theartwork, made of 8k gold, weighs 44.7 taels and is valued at more than 2billion VND. It took PNJ designers and artisans a total of 240 hours tocomplete the product.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
