The State Securities Commission (SSC) will gradually restructure thestock market in 2011 by improving the listed, OTC and government bondmarkets.
This proposal was put forward at a meeting designed toembark on tasks to develop the stock market in 2011 in Hanoi onFebruary 24.
The SSC will increase its listing standards toimprove the quality of the stock market and its sustainability, whileexpanding the OTC market to reduce activities on the unofficial market.
In 2010, the stock market’s capitalisation had reached 726trillion VND (33.76 billion USD), a year-on-year increase of 17.1percent and accounted for 39 percent of GDP.
The total amountof traded stocks on both the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange and the HanoiStock Exchange valued at 620 trillion VND.
