Vietnam’s team ready for AFC U16 qualifiers

Vietnam will face Cambodia in the opening match of Group I of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U16 Championship 2018 qualifying round on September 20 in Mongolia.

Hanoi (VNA) –
Vietnam will face Cambodia in the openingmatch of Group I of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U16 Championship2018 qualifying round on September 20 in Mongolia.

The team, who won the 2017 ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) U15Championship, has trained for a month in Hanoi to prepare for the tournament.

According to coach Vu Hong Viet, his players have improved in terms ofphysical strength and skills.

“I am satisfied with the preparations of the whole team. They exertedthemselves in each training session, I have belief in my team that they willwin a slot in the finals,” Viet said.

Vietnam will take on the host Mongolia on September 22 and Australia twodays later.

There are 45 teams participating in the tournament to be held fromSeptember 16-24, divided into 10 groups.

The 15 best teams will make the finals alongside the hosts.-VNA
