Vietnam's total COVID-19 cases now 241

A Vietnamese student from the UK was confirmed positive for SARS-CoV-2 on April 5 afternoon, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases in Vietnam to 241, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Hanoi (VNA) –
A Vietnamese student from the UK was confirmed positive for SARS-CoV-2 on April5 afternoon, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases in Vietnam to 241,according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention andControl.

The 20-year-oldstudent boarded Flight VN0050 from London to Vietnam on March 21, and arrivedat Can Tho airport in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho one day later.

Upon entry, the manshowed no symptoms of the COVID-19 disease and was transferred to aconcentrated quarantine area in the Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu.

He tested negativefor SARS-CoV-2 that causes COVID-19 on March 25. However, on March 31, hedisplayed symptoms of fever and sore throat. The second test by the PasteurInstitute in Ho Chi Minh City on April1 turned up positive.

Thestudent is being treated at the Bac Lieu General Hospital in Bac Lieu province./.
