Hanoi (VNA) - CubanAmbassador to Vietnam Lianys To𓄧rres Rivera has received 100 tonnes of rice fromDeputy General Director of the Viglacera Corporation Tran Ngoc Anh.

The rice is a giftfrom Viglacera’s Vimariel S.A company based at the Mariel special economic zonein Cuba for frontline medical staff fighting COVID-19 in the country. Speaking at the presentation ceremony,Anh said the gift reflects the solidarity with and appreciation of Cuba’smedical workers in the fight. Ambassador Torres, forher part, said Vietnam always joins together with the Cuban people at difficultmoments, and the Cuban people were also delighted with the gift of 5,000 tonnesrice presented recently by the Vietnamese Party, State, and people. She expressed her beliefthat with international solidarity and ceaseless efforts by the two countries’political systems and authorities, Vietnam and Cuba will defeat the pandemicand move forward./.
