VN art troupe attends Chingay Parade 2020 in Singapore
An art troupe of HCM City’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism joined more than 5,000 performers from 149 countries and international organisations at the 48th edition of the Chingay Parade, which opened in Singapore on January 31.

Singapore (VNA) – An art troupe of HCM City’s Department ofCulture, Sports and Tourism joined more than 5,000 performers from 149countries and international organisations at the 48th edition of theChingay Parade, which opened in Singapore on January 31.
Chingay is one of Asia’s largest street and floats parade that epitomises thedynamism of Singapore’s vibrant and multicultural society. The theme forChingay 2020 is “Colours in Harmony”, expressed through the use of differentcolours to symbolise Singapore’s cultural diversity and harmonious blend ofdifferent cultures.
Highlight of the parade was a unique “Bridge of Harmony”float, decked out with “harmony” tiles that are co-created by more than 20,000residents island-wide. The parade also featured 60 stellar performances stagedby domestic art troupes and seven countries of China, Indonesia, Japan,Malaysia, Russia, Thailand and Vietnam.
Forty Vietnamese artists and 100 extras from theVietnamese people community in the host nation put on a colourful display atthe event to popularise Vietnam as a friendly nation for international friends.Their performance also contributed to enhancing friendship and cultural exchangewith Singapore and the participating nations.
The two-day parade is expected to attract a crowd of some 280,000, and millionsof spectators all over the world./.
