VN, India step up joint educational initiatives

The Vietnam-India Joint Working Group met in New Delhi from May 7-8 to discuss education and training cooperation between the two countries.

At the meeting, the participants discussed manyissues of common concern such as their experiences of development andinnovation in higher education, especially in information technology,nanotechnology, network security, bio-technology, oceanography,satellites and online education.

The talks alsofocused on developing training programmes in English on specialistsubjects and how to promote studying the Vietnamese and Indian cultures.

The group urged universities and institutes inboth countries to develop joint training programmes and scientificresearch as well as exchanging lecturer, students and educationalmanagers.

They also agreed to set up a special working party to carry out the joint initiatives already agreed by both governments.

At the same time, the Vietnamese delegates met with several Indianenterprises that operate in training IT and network security, as theyare keen to seek out investment opportunities in Vietnam.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
