Vu A Dinh scholarship fund has been honoured with the Labour Order, first class, for its support to ethnic minority students across the country.

Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan presented the accoladeto Truong My Hoa, Chairwoman of the fund at a ceremony held in Ho ChiMinh City on June 21 celebrating the 15 th founding anniversary of thefund and the 65 th commemorative anniversary of ethnic hero Vu A Dinh,who lost his life to the anti-French war.

Established in 1999,the fund has given scholarships to 50,000 ethnic minority students,built eight schools, 10 bridges, and 35 houses for the poor.

It also has raised fund to build two elementary schools on Truong Sa Lonand Sin Ton islands, the central province of Khanh Hoa.

Alsothe same day, its money has reached out to 265 ethnic minority studentsin the city, as part of its plan to offer 5,000 scholarships toexcellent students during the 2013-2014 academic year.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
