Webinar gathers expatriates’ opinions on post-pandemic recovery

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held an online discussion on September 30 to look into the characteristics of the world amid the COVID-19 pandemic and impacts on Vietnam.

Hanoi (VNA) –The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held an online discussion on September 30 tolook into the characteristics of the world amid the COVID-19 pandemic andimpacts on Vietnam.

The event was attended bymore than 280 domestic and overseas researchers of the ministry, along with sixspeakers who are expatriate specialists in politics and internationaleconomics.

It was part of a series ofactivities calling on overseas Vietnamese to join hands with the homeland tosurmount the pandemic.

Deputy Foreign Minister PhamQuang Hieu, Chairman of the State Committee on Overseas Vietnamese, said the webinarwas one of the activities held to implement the Politburo’s Resolution No36-NQ/TW, dated March 26, 2004, on overseas Vietnamese affairs and ConclusionNo 12/KL-TW, dated August 12, 2021, on overseas Vietnamese affairs in the newcontext.

It helped collect expatriates’opinions on political and economic issues and their proposals for recovering,promoting, and developing the country’s economy in the face of the COVID-19pandemic, he added.

Appreciating the opinions,Hieu noted the recommendations by participants will be considered during theformation of the foreign policy in the time ahead./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
