Typhoon Trami, the sixth to hit the East Sea this year, made landfall in the central localities of Thua Thien-Hue, Da Nang and Quang Nam at about 1 pm on October 27, bringing heavy rain and strong winds.

Localities in northern Vietnam, particularly coastal ones, are being warned to brace for heavy rain triggered by tropical storm Mulan, the second storm entering the East Sea this year, which is heading towards the area from Quang Ninh province to Hai Phong city.

The construction of Vietnam’s biggest solar power plant with capacity of 168 MWp and total investment of roughly 4.4 trillion VND (194 million USD) commenced in the south central province of Ninh Thuan on June 8.

Vietnam has huge potential in terms of geography and wind power resources to generate electricity, experts have said.
