Hanoi (VNA) - Companies in Vietnam who wish to employforeign employees can now apply for work permits online.

TheMinistry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs started this procedure onOctober 2 via an electronic network.

Applicantscan access dvc.vieclamvietnam.gov.vn to apply fora work permit.

According to a new decree issued by the ministry, concerningthe approval of the demand for using foreign workers, employers must fill in adeclaration form and submit a report on demand of using foreignworkers at least 20 days prior to the day they expect to employ foreignworkers.

The time period has been cut down to 20 days from the previous 30days.

Twelve days after the report is received, employers canexpect a reply via email.

Withregard to granting permits, employers must fill in the declaration form andsubmit a work permit to the relevant agencies via the web portal, at leastseven days prior to the date of foreign employees joining work.

A replywill be sent via email to applicants within five working days.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
