Works begins on Quang Nam-Da Nang Bridge

Work commenced on the Giao Thuy Bridge across the Thu Bon river on March 25, which will connect the mountainous districts of central Quang Nam province and central Da Nang city.
Work commenced on the Giao Thuy Bridge across the Thu Bon river on March25, which will connect the mountainous districts of central Quang Namprovince and central Da Nang city.

The bridge,which will span 1,002 metres in length and 12 metres in width, will costover 823 billion VND (37.8 million USD). It is scheduled to becomeoperational in September, 2017.

Once completed, thebridge will connect Nong Son, Que Son, Duy Xuyen, and Dai Loc districtsof Quang Nam province with Da Nang city, facilitating travel betweenthe two localities and reducing traffic congestion, especially duringflooding season when ferry boats are required for travelling.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister NguyenXuan Phuc asked authorities, investors and contractors from the twolocalities to work closely to ensure high quality and rapid progress ofthe project.

On the occasion, Quang Nam provinceofficially opened the Ai Nghia Bridge over the Yen River, linking AiNghia town and Da Loc district.

The 125 metre-longbridge, built with a total investment of over 92 billion VND (4.3million USD), contributes to boosting socio-economic development andminimising traffic jams in the west and surrounding areas of Quang Nam.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
